Thurston Wolf, also referred to as Mr. Wolf, is an NPC first introduced with Breeze that played a key part in the story of the map.

Presence in Breeze[]

The first mention to Thurston is in the form of a map label in Breeze, Wolf Mansion, which refers to the hill behind B site. Harbor identifies the building as neo classical style mansion and mentions how out of place that architecture feels in a Caribbean island.

In a later Reddit AMA, a deleted response by Creative Director David Nottingham[1] confirmed that this mention wasn't just the name of the mansion found on the map but rather a future NPC, with his name being revealed to be Thurston.

Hey Zakky!

So yeah, Wolf's Mansion....

Every map has a story to tell. And the story of Breeze is one that we want to reveal more of over time. Suffice to say that Thurston Wolf (the full name) is an NPC character in the world of VALORANT and played a key part in the backstory of Breeze and why the map itself has become of strategic importance to VP and VP2.

Connection to Chamber[]

It is speculated that Thurston has had some dealings with Chamber in the past, primarily due to the Frenchman's contract playercard Joint Venture.

The Joint Venture card depicts Chamber shaking hands with a man in a tropical island.

On the card, Chamber is shaking the hand of a man wearing shorts and a loose fitting shirt, while a large ship is seen in the background. The structure of this ship is very similar to that of the ship stranded in Breeze, the KNG Meridian, both in terms of the hull and the communication equipment found on top of the command deck.

With this similarity pointing towards Chamber having negotiated with Thurston Wolf in the past, and given the portal that can be found within the KNG Meridian in game, it is possible that the reason for the negotiations between the two is a shared interest in portal technology.

Connection to KAY/O[]

KAYO Wolf

Although to a lesser extent, it is also speculated that Thurston Wolf has something to do with the existence of KAY/O. Found near his in-game model's right shoulder is an emblem that shows the head of a wolf, which is a potential reference to Thurston's surname.

Additionally, KAY/O was introduced to the world of VALORANT through the portal found in the KNG Meridian in a series of patches that saw its activation and displayed multiple warnings, a portal that Mr. Wolf was invested into and that plays a large role in the story of Breeze.

Thurston in the present[]

The fate of Mr. Wolf has been up in the air since the release of Breeze, as the character has not made an appearance since. The only clue as to whether he is dead or alive is the ruinous state of the mansion, which could be a hint towards the demise of the character.
