Tejo is the 27th Agent to join the VALORANT Protocol. Hailing from Colombia, he uses his ballistic guidance system to ensure his strikes keep enemies off balance.

A veteran intelligence consultant from Colombia, Tejo’s ballistic guidance system pressures the enemy to relinquish their ground - or their lives. His targeted strikes keep opponents off balance and under his heel.

Lore[]

Tejo represents Colombia as the 27th Agent to join the VALORANT Protocol. He makes use of a bracer similar to the one used by Brimstone. In Tejo’s case, however, the bracer holds and launches ordnance instead of acting as something he uses to call in his support like how Brimstone’s equipment works. That function is instead carried out by his glasses which seem to display an interface in augmented reality whenever he needs to deploy his long-distance ordnance, namely his Guided Salvo and Armageddon.

Past[]

It is implied through his voice line interactions with Brimstone[1] that the two individuals share a history with each other. It is unclear at what point in their lives they shared this history, but it seems that it left the two individuals at odds ever since.

There is a possibility that it may have been sometime during Brimstone’s time at K-SEC. Looking at the similarity of the kind of equipment they use, it is likely that Tejo was also a member of K-SEC and it was from there that he got his equipment.

All of the above is largely theory crafting and speculation as, like most of the other members of the Protocol, there is very little that we know for certain about Tejo’s past.

INITIATE V.25[]

In the period leading up to his reveal, we were given small snippets of his equipment: first, his Stealth Drone[2], then his Guided Salvo[3], and finally, his Armageddon[4].

Tejo was fully revealed in the INITIATE V.25[5] trailer to mark VALORANT’s new season beginning. Here, we see several teams of Agents being deployed all over the world as they combat a new and currently unknown faction. Tejo was assisting the teams with long-distance ordnance and what was essentially artillery support. At the end of the trailer, we see him greeting Brimstone, seemingly for the first time since whatever rift between them formed. He greets him before asking “Is the crew ready?” likely referring to the rest of the Protocol.

As such, this seems to imply that Brimstone invited Tejo to join the Protocol, and despite their past differences, Tejo decided to accept the offer.

Personality[]

Tejo presents himself as a no-nonsense and well-put-together man. His speech and voice lines also seem to indicate that he has full trust in his combat experience as he is willing to advise his teammates on how to fight around his utility and how they can keep themselves safe. The way he speaks these lines, however, seems to indicate that these are all troubles that he has faced and worked past himself, such as the line he shares on pulling the trigger. Despite all this, Tejo nonetheless seems to be able to take this work in stride and can very matter-of-factly encourage his companions ahead with dry remarks on death on the battlefield, both among the enemy’s forces and his own.

Appearance[]

As an intelligence consultant, Tejo dresses himself to appear professional and business-like. The highlight of his outfit is the golden blazer with its sleeves rolled up featuring some symbols on the shoulders and back. The lapels, the collar and the symbol on the back have orange highlights on them.

Below the blazer, he wears a casual t-shirt and a pair of jeans. He also has two utility belts- one along his chest holding grenades and one by his hip which holds extra sidearm magazines. Besides these utility belts, he also wears a regular belt with a large buckle. He wears his equipment bracer on his left hand which sits over his forearm. He also wears a pair of gloves. His shoes seem to be either boots or casual shoes. He wears glasses that interface with his equipment allowing him to use it. His hair is well kept with a small tuft of grey towards the front and he also sports a small moustache.

He also has some scars of an unknown origin along the left side of his neck and chest as well as his right arm. Some speculation has been made suggesting that they are perhaps radivore scars, but these are unconfirmed.

These features can be viewed on his model, which can be viewed here, courtesy of Kingdom Archives.

Relationships[]

Brimstone - Avatar
Brimstone

Tejo and Brimstone met before the VALORANT Protocol, possibly as colleagues seeing how both share a past related to the military, and calls him "cucho" (old man). They had a rocky relationship previously and still do today, Brimstone even "losing his cool" talking to Tejo. It's hinted that Tejo dislikes Brimstone for sticking to the rules too firmly, but it now seems he's trying harder to get along with him. His voice softens when Tejo tells Brimstone "don't die", implying that maybe Tejo cares about him to some extent.

Notes[]

  • Tejo’s stealth drone marks the first confirmed use of radiant/radianite suppression tech in the present times in a combat application.
    • KAY/O is from the future, as is his technology
  • Tejo’s equipment is likely from his time at K-SEC. However, since he is implied to be an independent contractor now, it is unclear how he still has access to this equipment.
    • Along a similar line, Brim’s access to his equipment can also be brought into question
    • In our world, military personnel who retire will keep items they paid for such as uniforms and utility items, but this does not extend to weaponry and equipment
    • The equipment could be custom recreations, but that is speculation
