Rúben Pontes was an Kingdom Employee at the Everett-Linde Facility, prior to its destruction.

As specified above, Rúben Pontes was a worker at the Everett-Linde Facility. He was from Ω-Earth, and so worked at Kingdom Industries. He worked closely with his Alpha partner, Oran McEneff, on the development of the LRC. They have an amiable relationship, and formed a good team while working.
Rúben lives in Ω-Lisbon, in the same Geodome in which Pearl is set. His home, as hinted by the nameplate reading 'R. Pontes', can be found in-game at Mid Connector.
Unlike most of the other scientists who worked at Everett-Linde, Rúben is assumed to have survived the Everett-Linde Disaster which destroyed the facility. He escaped the explosion and fled back to his home in Omega Earth, taking Oran with him. However, in doing so, Rúben has made himself a wanted fugitive, as bringing an Alpha citizen to Omega Earth is considered a crime.
Evidence of this can be found in the Yellow on Rails card, in which Rúben and Oran are both seen riding a tram in one of the many underwater tunnels near Ω-Lisbon. Alongside this, WANTED posters of both Rúben and Oran can be found near Pearl's B Site.

Aurora Pontes[]
Aurora Pontes is Rúben's niece, who lives in Omega Earth (more specifically, in Pearl, located in Ω-Lisbon). Although she does not know the details of Rúben's work at Everett-Linde, she understands that it is necessary to 'save the world'.
