"MYTHS - Iso Agent Trailer" was released on October 19, 2023 to serve as an introduction to the VALORANT PROTOCOL's 24th Agent, namely Iso. The trailer features the song "RENEGADE" by 99 God and C103, and depicts the events that unfold subsequent to the explosion at Kingdom West Facility.

Synopsis[]

This trailer serves as an official introduction for Iso, depicting the events that unfold subsequent to the explosion at Kingdom West Facility as seen in the Sunset Map Trailer. As a Kingdom scientist examines the remainders of the Kingdom West facility Kingdom Soldiers talk about a "hired gun" who's responsible for dismantling entire operations. Things take a turn when the quartet meets the origin of the infamous assassin— Agent 24, namely Iso.

Plot[]

Kingdom Scientist - Iso's Reveal Trailer

Kingdom Scientist & Armed Kingdom Soldiers

The trailer starts off with an aerial view of what used to be the Maw of the Interverse, right at the heart of the Kingdom West facility located in Los Angeles. Three soldiers and a Kingdom scientist come into view as the latter rants about how Kingdom abandoning her research would set them back years. After the scientist makes a comment about wasted effort, a soldier asks whether this project is worth "risking their lives". As the conversation between the soldiers unfold, we come to learn about a mysterious assassin specifically targeting the people that are connected to the Landfall Project. As the soldiers continue to talk about this assassin, they note that he's bulletproof, and that he has the ability to take out a squad with one round (of bullets), calling him a bulletproof wizard. One soldier remains skeptical until the other soldier telling the story brings up the reason why this assassin is nicknamed "The Dead Lilac", by the purple flash the targets of the latter sees before being eliminated. While the soldiers continue marveling about the assassin, the Kingdom Scientist dismisses them, calling these rumors "stories". Just as she warns the others to not tell any more "stories", the assassin, namely Iso, steps out of the shadows, saying "Too bad... 你们这个故事可好了." (Too bad... What a great story you have.")

After Iso neutralizes his targets, he texts his employer— represented with a stylized hourglass symbol— that the mission is done. Immediately after, the Hourglass assigns Iso his new target, and Iso sighs as he realizes that it's Omen.

Iso - Iso's Reveal Trailer

Iso learning that his next target is Omen

The first sign of the new agent was through Sova's email to Brimstone in Patch 7.05[1] in which he questioned the curious disappearing of Landfall team leadership. The sentiment was shared by Kingdom, as the company also wasn't aware where their personnel suddenly disappeared. At the time, Sova had guessed that it could've been Legion, Atlas, or a new enemy from Omega Earth. Afterwards, Killjoy comes to the conclusion that there were no Omega Particles present in Sova's scannings of Kingdom West, which ruled out Omega Earth's involvement. She also notes that she's noticed something weird in the security circuits, which Raze thinks looks like an hourglass.[2]

After the discovery of this hourglass symbol, things take a turn. We learn that Omen is familiar with this hourglass symbol— but just as he can't remember his past, his memory of the hourglass symbol is very vague. He consults the help of Sage and Fade as a means of remembering his past, but it proves to be fruitless.[3]

To uncover the secret of the missing Kingdom scientists, Cypher manages to reach the assassin known as Iso. He states that Iso is "willing to cooperate" but wants "protection from his former employer".[4] This employer is the same person represented with the hourglass symbol. Iso's inclusion to VALORANT Protocol is thought to be caused by his employer's demand that Omen be killed. Iso's demeanor towards his now previous employer and towards Omen are currently unknown.

Notes[]

  • Prior to his release, short videos showcasing Iso's skills and VALORANT Protocol's reactions to his abilities were featured in the official VALORANT Twitter account.[5] [6] [7] [8]
  • In the email sent by Kingdom R&D Team Leaders in Patch 7.05, it is indicated that Kingdom will be assigning armed escorts to personnel with Level Five clearance and above. This suggests that the scientist we see in Iso's reveal trailer had at least Level Five clearance in the Kingdom West facility, underlining the improtance of her role in the Landfall Project.
  • Agents Reyna, Neon, Cypher, Raze, and Phoenix were used in the social media teasers prior to Iso's release. This could be a premonition for these Agents' future friendship with the newcomer.
  • The Kingdom scientist in this cinematic was previously seen fleeing the Kingdom West Facility in the Sunset Reveal Trailer.
